Do you need help with relaxed muscles? Muscles soreness is something that everyone can relate to. We usually associate this feeling with hard and intense physical activity but you can create muscles soreness though otherwise less strenuous activities. Sitting, for example, is a seemingly mindless activity but if you are sitting with poor posture than you are create unnecessary stress in your muscles which may lead to back and neck pain. Low back pain is actually the most common reason for disability and the second most common reason for calling into work.

By getting a massage you are working directly with the superficial and deep muscles, increasing blood flow and allowing them to relax and be more flexible. By increasing the blood flow, the muscles can also receive the proper amount of nutrients and oxygen. The end result? Decreased swelling, tension and pain and increase mobility. There are also chemical reactions that occur in the body during a massage. Endorphins (responsible for the feelings of happiness and relaxation) are released which triggers the release of serotonin and dopamine. This combination of “happy hormones” gets you and your body feeling good which increases healing and pain management in a natural way.

quoteTouch was never meant to be a luxury. It is a basic human need. It is an action that validates life and gives hope to both the receiver and the giver. The healing of touch is reciprocal.

Your massage session will take place in a warm, safe, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.

Your session will be conducted by a professional licensed therapist who has received proper training and often works side-by-side assisting our doctors.

Most massage techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort. You will be properly draped during the session.

The therapist will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with clean sheets.

Make yourself comfortable. The therapist will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax. Others like to talk during their session.

When dealing with acute pain, once or twice a week will be most beneficial. Once past the acute pain, you will receive much benefit by receiving a massage every 2-4 weeks.
